Whilst competition is generally good for everyone, we'd just like to point out a few things about our printed chocolate products, so that our customers don't get them mixed up with some of the inferior products on the market that we certainly do not want to be associated with

Whilst we are usually very competitive on price, and we know cost is important, so is quality and taste. Your clients will not thank you for giving them something that tastes terrible or looks disappointing and nothing like the product you thought you were buying from a competitor's website. Watch out for website Photoshop trickery - buyer beware!

Whilst the table below is is not exhaustive, it should bring up a few questions you should ask before considering purchasing printed chocolate products from another company. If you don't get satisfactory answers, walk away!

Questions to ask GroovyChocolate Competitor
Products made in Australia or imported?
Made in Australia. We are members of the Australian Made, Australian Grown Campaign
Imported? Overseas products are cheaper, but usually for a good reason. Shouldn't you be supporting Australian businesses?
Real Milk Chocolate or Compound?
How does it taste?
Real Milk Chocolate.
We always have samples available for everyone to try when we exhibit at trade shows, so you can taste for yourself and confirm it tastes as good as it looks! We are always complemented on taste
Compound?
Whilst taste is subjective and you wouldn't expect us to complement a competitor, we'd strongly suggest getting a sample before ordering a large amount. You will be thankful you did!
Printing done in-house or outsourced?
In-house by our own staff using dedicated confectionary printers
If outsourced, what's the quality control like?
Specialist or just another product in the range?
Specialist - printed chocolates are our core product, we've been doing them for 10 years.
Our other products have been added recently to complement these
If part of a large range or promotional products, how well does the company really know their chocolates? Do they actually have any involvement in making them?
How long in business?
Since 2000 in UK, 2006 in Australia
New business? Do they really know what they are doing?
Member of any professional associations?
Member of APPA - Australasian Promotional Products Association
If not, why not? Where's your quality assurance or comeback if things go wrong?
What's the printing surface made of?
Soft fondant icing - tasty on it's own, doesn't spoil the taste of the chocolate and gives a nice bright print
Typically brittle icing or rice paper.
Does anyone actually like rice paper? Not generally very tasty!
Look out for false claims of printing directly onto chocolate (chocolate is non-porous and does not easily absorb ink). Whilst it is possible, is your product printed this way? See below
Who are your clients?
Many of our clients and their comments are listed here. We list them to allow our customers to see we have a high quality client list with many well known business names. These top companies trust us, you should too!
No client list?
Lack of clients, or lack of pleased clients to give referrals?
Website photos
Apart from obvious exceptions, real un-retouched photos are used on our website wherever possible. What you see is what you get!
Virtually always Photoshop. Why aren't real photos used? Is it because the actual product will disappoint? See below

We ordered these products from a competitor to test them out

This particular competitor uses Photoshopped images throughout their website, not real photos. Ever wonder why?

Even with these actual photos of real products, we'll be the first to complement the products & packaging - they look pretty good from this distance

Now let's take a closer look at the chocolates...
Image not even close to being aligned
Ink oversprayed on chocolate
Ink oversprayed on chocolate
Ink oversprayed on chocolate
This company claims to print "directly onto the surface of the chocolate", but clearly this product has icing on it.
Are you being mislead?
Also, shouldn't good quality chocolate be smooth when you snap it?
Still think they look good?

Poor quality promotional products reflect badly on you - what message would these products convey to your clients?

Choose GroovyChocolate - for quality, taste & service!
